Public Event

We hope to organise a public event one evening during the congress. Full details will appear when they have been finalised.

Organised Trips

We hope to organise several trips for delegates both before and after the meeting.  

Possible trips include visits to penguin colonies at Boulders Beach and/or Stony Point; winery tours and birding trips around the Cape peninsula. 

Please note these trips are likely to incur an additional cost.

Most international flights arrive at Johannesburg; passengers for Cape Town take an internal flight on to Cape Town. Airlines that fly direct into Cape Town from overseas are:

  • Air France: from Amsterdam Airport Schipol and Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport. 
  • KLM: from Amsterdam Airport Schipol and Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport. 
  • Lufthansa: seasonal from Frankfurt International Airport. 
  • Turkish Airlines: from Istanbul-Atatürk International Airport 
  • Malaysia Airlines: from Buenos Aires-Ezeiza and Kuala Lumpur International Airports 
  • Air Mauritius: from Mauritius. 
  • Etihad Airways: from Abu Dhabi International Airport in the United Arab Emirates. 
  • Qatar: from Doha International Airport. 
  • TAAG Angola Airlines: from Luanda International Airport. 
  • Ethiopian Airlines: from Addis Ababa. 
  • Also, SAA has flights from many neighbouring Southern African countries.

Flights to Cape Town from the UK cost around £500 for connecting flights and up to £1000 for direct flights

From Major European cities flights are from €700

From the USA East Coast prices start at about $1,000 and from the West Coast $1,400
